Backroom Saints

Backroom Saints is raw working-class protest music fronted by Scott “Matchmaker” Michaels, built for the priced out, tracked, replaced, and forgotten.

Old songs. New scars. Football, faith, fathers, freedom, rage, truth, pubs, pay packets, panic, and survival all meet here. No polish. No permission. No surrender. Just songs for the ones still standing.

Product Details
Some grounds had glamour. **The Baseball Ground had edge.** Home to Derby County from **1895 to 1997**, it became one of the most intimidating old grounds in English football. Tight stands. Heavy pitches. Noise right on top of the players. A proper inner city football ground where supporters felt part of the match rather than spectators watching from a distance. The **Baseball Ground collection by Stylo Matchmakers** celebrates the places that gave football its character. The grounds with rough edges. The grounds that felt different. The grounds you never forgot. **FOOTBALL LIVED HERE.** ### The T-Shirt A classic unisex cotton tee with a structured fit and substantial feel. Designed to hold its shape and work equally well worn alone or layered as part of a streetwear look. • 100% cotton • Sport Grey: 90% cotton, 10% polyester • Ash Grey: 99% cotton, 1% polyester • Heather colours: 50% cotton, 50% polyester • Fabric weight: 5.0–5.3 oz/yd² (170–180 g/m²) • Open-end yarn • Tubular construction • Taped neck and shoulders • Double stitching at sleeves and bottom hem Blank garments are sourced from Honduras, Nicaragua, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Bangladesh or Mexico before being finished with the Stylo Matchmakers design. ### The Story The Baseball Ground became Derby County's home in 1895 and remained so until 1997. It saw some of the greatest years in the club's history, including the championship sides of the 1970s. Under managers such as Brian Clough and Dave Mackay, Derby became one of the major forces in English football. But the ground itself was every bit as memorable as the teams. It was compact. It was loud. It was unforgiving. When the Baseball Ground was full, there was nowhere to hide. The club moved on. The old stands disappeared. But for generations of Derby supporters, this remains home. **The Baseball Ground. 1895–1997.** **Football Lived Here.** ### Please Note Due to the natural properties of the fabric, the White colour option may appear slightly off-white rather than brilliant white. Natural coloured garments may also contain darker speckles within the fabric. These are an expected characteristic of the material rather than a printing defect. **STYLO MATCHMAKERS** *Football history you can wear.*
